Peeling paint? No problem!
The workshop was held at Mongolia's National Observatory. Built by the Russians well before they "let go of" Mongolia in 1990, it stands atop a steep hill in a country known for its viciously cold winters. The building's exterior is marked by cracked concrete, peeling paint, and crumbling steps -- none of which mattered in the least to the workshop participants. Many of them are involved in development and relief projects designed to help the poorest of the poor. This may be why they keep "problems" like chipped paint in perspective.
