Makeshift Court

"Do what you can, with what you have"
The Mongolian countryside is sprinkled with villages like this one. Crowded together are small wooden homes and traditional "gers," which are circular cabin-tent hybrids made of layered felt. Many Mongolians live in poverty, but they maintain a love of life, a respect for nature, and a fondness for play -- treasures in their own right. One example stands tall on a town's outskirts: a basketball court made from plywood, scrap metal, and a patch of earth.
