The 5-Minute Assessments are designed to take the temperature of the current
situation and set the stage for meaningful dialogue. Each assessment consists of
five assessment items. The survey-taker reads each item and makes an evaluation using
a 1-to-7 agreement scale.
The assessments are color-coded to correspond with the various sets of keys. The
four Mission Key assessments (purpose, direction, relevance, validation) are blue.

Assessments are a means to an end -- and not an end in themselves. That's why each
5-Minute Assessment includes a section at the bottom titled "Interpreting the
results and taking action." There are straightforward prompts and questions
designed to move the conversation toward a positive, practical outcome.
